1. Roll your toon, send gold and items from a higher level alt.

If you have a high level toon, farm gold and save up for heirloom items if you can. At that point, you'll be able to level more easily because you can buy all the needed items you'll need to level quickly to 85, whether you're druid leveling, paladin leveling, or any class.

If you don't have a high level toon, don't worry. You can still use the AH to make plenty of gold, and you can farm and sell the materials gathered on your quests.

You can also level through professions. Simply gathering ore and herbs will help you out a lot in experience boosts.

3. Be sure you've chosen the right class.

It's important to pick a good class to level to 85, especially if you are doing so for the first time. A hunter or paladin make good starting classes to level; hunters have a pet, and paladins have healing and good dps abilities.

Of course with the changes made to each class in the Cataclysm expansion, just about any class will serve well, so you can pick based on which is most fun.

You might want to experiment with a few different classes before making your decision, so you can pick the one that's best for you.
